Description

Wooden Honour Board

The original honour roll was destroyed in a fire in 1950, however a replica is now displayed at the Ora Banda Hotel.

The original Ora Banda Honour Roll was unveiled on the 17th October 1920 by Mrs Wilson whose five sons had gone to fight, one of whom paid the supreme sacrifice. The honour board was a beautiful piece of work of polished jarrah with 100 names on brass plates. The work was carried out by Millars' Jarrah Company. After the unveiling schoolchildren sang "Bells of Peace" and in the evening there was a special service at the Miners Hall to commemorate the unveiling of the roll.
