CORPORAL W. B. NANKERVIS.
Official notice has just been received that Corporal W. B .Nankervis, who was reported missing in August 1916, was killed in action at Pozieres on August 4, 1916. Corporal Nankervis was the second son of Mr. James Nankervis; formerly manager of the Ulster Co's. mine, now residing at Moonee Ponds. Prior to enlistment in September, 1915, he was employed by Mr. J. Warren, draper, of Hargreaves street. He served in Gallipoli, and after the evacuation was sent to France where he met his untimely end.
William aws associated with the Mackenzie street and Forst Street Methodist Sunday Schools from boyhood and received his education at the Gravel Hill State School.
