Victor Emanuel Thompson served twice in the South African (Boer) War, first as a Bugler S.N. 192 in the 4th Queensland Imperial Bushmen, second as a Private S.N. 686 in the 6th Queensland Imperial Bushmen.
He was born 5 Dec 1882 in Queensland, a son to James Brine Thompson and Paulina Thompson (nee Link).
