Charles Edward Williams was born on 27 Aug 1881 in Queensland, a son to William Williams and Ann Williams (nee Guilck). When he enlisted in 1901 with the 6th QIB for the Boer War he noted his N.O.K. as Mrs A. Williams at Kangaroo Point in Brisbane.
