End WW2 80th Anniversary 2025

80th Anniversary End of WW2

2025 is the 80th Anniversary of the end of Australia’s involvement in WW2. Jubilant crowds gathered across the country on the Victory in the Pacific (VP) Day, August 15 1945.

The VWMA encourages schools to mark this anniversary with involvement in our Schools Program. Could your students complete a biography of an Australian serviceperson who fought during WW2?

Consider ‘adopting a Memorial or Honour Board’ located near your school. Have your students research the lives of those who are commemorated on it and have their work published on the VWMA.

Is your school a long-established school? Do you have old scholars who served in WW2? Does your school have a WW2 Honour Board or Memorial? Consider a project to commemorate the contribution of your school community with the establishment of a Memorial or Honour Board.
