THIS MONUMENT WAS ERECTED TO
COMMEORATE THE SOLDIER SETTLERS, THEIR WIVES AND FAMILIES
WHO STAYED TO RECEIVE THEIR PURCHASE LEASES
AND PIONEERED THE NEW IRRIGATION SETTLEMENT
WHICH COMMENCED IN YARROWEAYAH IN 1947
