John Shattock CHRISTMAS was born in Auburn, Victoria in 1894
His parents were Henry Shipp CHRISTMAS & Ellen Jane SHATTOCK
He enlisted in Melbourne on 20th September, 1915 and embarked on 24th November, 1915 on the HMAT Botanist with the 6th Field Artillery Brigade , 16th ABattery - he returned to Australia in 1919
John married Lucy Annie NORRIS in 1917 in the All Saints Church, Boughton Lees, Kent, England - they had 5 known children
John died on 14th January, 1949 in Heidleberg Repatriation Hospital in Victoria due to war service injuries and is buried in the Springvale Cemetery
