Son of William Hugh Hooke and Margaret Ellen Hooke nee Holloway of 'Kilsyth', Croydon, Victoria
Brother of Norman Robert Hooke who was killed in action on 1 September 1916 while serving with the 46th Battalion and has no known grave. His name appears on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial
