Marceau Norbert Francis HAUTRIVE was born on 14th March, 1897 at his parents residence "Halecote" via Liverpool NSW
His parents were Marceau HAUTRIVE and Esther GULLIVER who married in 1895 in NSW
He had previous service for 2 years & 3 months with the 18th Infantry Regiment before he enlisted on 8th November, 1916 with the Australian Army - he was with the 7th Battalion, 24th reinforcements - Unit embarked from Melbourne on HMAT Ballarat on 19th February, 1917
He was listed as Missing in Action and later as Killed in Action on 9th October, 1917 - no known grave. He is honoured on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial and the Australian War Memorial. He was awarded the British War Medal and the Victory Medal.
He went to War at such a young age to avenge the death of an ancestor who died in War. Fate was to see him Killed in Action
