Biography contributed by Steve Larkins

From Roberta Mckibbin

My great uncle was John Graham English during WWI....I don’t know much about his service during this time but I am looking into it. He was a Capt in WWII in the Australian Army with the 23rd Garrison Battalion. He died of tuberculosis on 3.9.1945.....sadly, according to my mother, 3 weeks before his son, who was a WWII POW, returned to Australia. He is commemorated at the Australian War Memorial on Panel 77 and is buried at Springvale cemetery. The second photo shows him standing in the centre, back row, possible with some of the 23rd Garrison Battalion.
