A handwritten note on Form B103 in his file states: 'Buried in vicinity of Verbick Farm 160 yards E of Glencorse Wood E of Ypres 28 s[heet?] 14 B 10.5.'
His brothers: 3753 Corporal James Alliston, 23rd Battalion AIF was killed in action at Bullecourt 3 May 1917 and a third brother was returned to Australia on the orders of the GOC AIF, General Birdwood, who noted 2462 Corporal George Duncan Alliston, 22nd Battalion had been once wounded and lost two brothers KIA.
