'While driving an ambulance car during the final withdrawal of the 2/11 Bn from the BRALLOS PASS area on the afternoon of 24 April 41 he went forward under heavy fire and evacuated the wounded of the forward companies. This disregard for his own safety made the complete evacuation of Bn wounded possible under very difficult circumstances.'
