Born in 1922 in Orange NSW, Audrey was the fourth of five children of William Bartlett (b1887 in Bathurst NSW) and Ellen Betsy Hughes (b1892 in Yass NSW). William (a Plasterer) and Ellen married in 1916 in Sydney NSW and moved to Orange where they raised their family. Following Ellen's death in 1946, William moved to Cronulla NSW, where he worked as a Plasterer.
Audrey was a Telephonist in Orange NSW in August 1944 when she enlisted in the WAAF (Aircraftwoman; Service No:177340). She was attached to Eastern Area HQ when she was Discharged in October 1946. Siblings Alan and Ruth also served in WWII.
In 1949 the Electoral Roll shows Audrey living in Orange NSW, with her occupation as 'WAAF'. By 1954 Audrey was living in Cronulla NSW with her sister and brother and working as a Telephonist. In the late 1950s she travelled to Canada where she married Richard James Osment (b1921 in Sakatchewan Canda) in 1963 in Vancouver, Canada. Audrey and James settled in British Columbia, Canada where Audrey died in 2011 and Richard in 2017.
