John Humphry BEITH was born on 15th April, 1895 in Balmain, New South Wales
His parents were John BEITH and Eliza HAYNES
He had previous service as a Sergeant in the Senior Cadets and a Corporal in the Citizens Force before he enlisted for WW1
His brother Harold James BEITH (SN 1951) also served in WW1 and returned to Australia in 1918 - he was awarded the Military Medal.
