Biography contributed by Faithe Jones

SCHULTZ.—Killed, in action, in France, on 2nd September, Private Daniel Herbert (Dan) Schultz, youngest son of the late Mr. and  Mrs. D. Schultz, and brother of the Misses L. E. and S. Schultz (Oakey) and Mrs. H.L. McKenny (Texas), aged 23 years. "Greater  love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."—St. John xv. 13.

Pte. Dan Schulz writes to his sisters, the Misses Schultz, Oakey, that he is somewhere in France, right in the zone of action.  He is in good health and enjoying the life.  Evidently "Dan" takes his daily risks lightly, and finds pleasure in knocking over the enemy.
