Died on this date - 26th February........Private George William Percy Albertson was born at Dungowan, near Tamworth, New South Wales in 1890. He enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force on 24th July, 1916 as a 26 year old Labourer.
Private Albertson arrived in England on 29th January, 1917 & had been admitted to Ship's hospital from 17th December 1916 until 17th January, 1917 on the way.
Private Albertson was sent to Fovant Military Hospital, Wiltshire on 17th February, 1917 from 8th Training Battalion at Hurdcott, Wiltshire.
Private George William Percy Albertson died at 11.50 pm on 26th February, 1917 from Bronchitis. He was buried in the churchyard of St. Edith’s at Baverstock, Wiltshire where 30 other WW1 Australian Soldiers are buried.
