WW2 Service RAN
Being in the RANR, Victor was immediately called up to serve his country in the Navy at the start of WW2. Victor served on a War Signal Station on the far Northern Coast of Queensland as well at HMAS Penguin and on the HMAS Coolibah (Mine Sweeper). On being demobilised from the Navy (Medically Unfit), Victor returned to the Bakehouse, and from there he began working at the Shipyards at Kangaroo Point as an Ambulance Officer. Victor then joined the QLD Ambulance Brigade, working at Head Quarters in the City, Mount Gravatt Depot then at the Brisbane Abattoirs where he remained until his retirement in 1978, having served 32 years as an Ambulance Officer.
