"FOR KING AND COUNTRY.
News was received here on Saturday that Lieutenant L. A. Storch, of the Australian Flying Corps, had been killed in action. He was a son of Mr. A. Storch, of Ambleside, and had been well and very favorably known at Lameroo as an officer of the Postal Department for about six years. He was promoted to Goodwood, and two years ago enlisted, subsequently joining the A.F.C. He was popular in musical and dramatic circles in this town, and gave his valued services freely on every patriotic, occasion. He was also an adept at cricket, football, tennis, and golf. Letters received from him show that he was making rapid progress in the art of flying, and a photograph came to hand only the day before the sad intelligence which announced his death portraying him in the uniform of the A.F.C. The greatest sympathy was expressed by a host of sorrowing friends, and flags in the town were flying at half-mast. The late Lieut.
