Lieutenant Aubrey Evans (Service No:WX3382) served with the Militia from  23 February 1936 to 25 February 1939) as a Private and Corporal (Service No:276412) with 11th/16th Battalion. On 11 July 1940 he enlisted with the AIF and served in Egypt, Syria and Palestine (22 September 1940 - 16 March 1942) with 11th Infantry Battalion and 2/31st Battalion. Lieutenant Evans then served in New Guinea in 1943/1944. He was hospitalised with Malaria and Sandfly Fever and on 12 October 1944 was appointed T/Captain. He was attached to HQ Western Command when he was Discharged on 4 July 1946.

The eldest of two children, Aubrey was born in 1916 in Boulder WA to Evan Morgan Evans (b1876 in Glamorgan, Wales) and Mary Elizabeth Williams (b1888 in Brisbane, QLD). Evan worked as an Agricultural Servant in Wales before immigrating to WA where he worked as a Miner and Horse Driver in Gwalia, WA. In 1915 Evan amd Mary married in Coolgardie and by 1930 the family had moved to Perth where Evan was an Agent until his death in 1941.

Aubrey started work as a Clerk in Fremantle and Perth and was an Accountant in 1942 when he married Veronica Ann O'Halloran (b1919 in Perth, WA). Aubrey and Veronica settled in Perth where Aubrey worked as an Accountant. Following Veronica's death in 1963, Aubrey remarried to Dorothy Winsome May Hookway (b1927 in Perth, WA) - Dorothy worked as a Stenographer. Aubrey and Dorothy settled in Perth WA where Aubrey was an Accountant. Dorothy died in 1991 and Aubrey in 2006.
