Father stated Edward was born 1881 (died 36 years of age).

Father Arthur William Abbott ANDREWS and Mother Bridget Andrews
lived at Macdonald House, 321 Pitt Street, Sydney, NSW.

Although Edward stated he was 33 years 3 months of age on enlisting, single,
5' 5 3/4" tall; 140 lbs; fresh complexion; blue eyes; brown hair; Roman Catholic

On enlisting Edward had lived at 'Roseleigh', North Ryde, NSW.

04/09/1916     enlisted in Sydney, NSW

10/09/1916     appointed to Dubbo Depot Battalion

19/09/1916     appointed to 17th Battalion, 17th Reinforcement at Liverpool, NSW

25/10/1916     embarked Sydney, NSW onboard HMAT A11 Ascanius
                      as a Private with 17th Battalion, 17th Reinforcement
28/12/1916     disembarked into Devonport, England

29/12/1916     marched into 5th Training Battalion, Rollestone, England

05/04/1917     proceeded overseas to France

06/04/1917     marched out to 2nd Australian Depot Base, Etaples, France

26/04/1917     joined 17th Battalion, France

20/09/1917     Killed in Action

09/01/1918     noted as buried:
                      East of Gordon House, south of road running from Zillebeke Road
