"...4566 Private Peter McLachlan, 6th Battalion from Clear Lake, Victoria. A 24 year old labourer prior to enlisting on 23 September 1915, he embarked for overseas with the 14th Reinforcements from Melbourne on 28 January 1916 aboard HMAT Themistocles (A32). After further training in Egypt, he joined the 6th Battalion in France where he was killed in action near Guedecourt on 11 November 1916. Pte McLachlan is commemorated on the Australian National Memorial at Villers-Bretonneux, France with others who have no known grave." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)
