Roy was born in Toodyay WA in 1915, the second of five children of Oliver George Page (b1884 in Parkside, South Australia) and Alice Kathleen Anderson (b1893 in Caversham, WA). Oliver (a Farm Hand) and Alice married in 1914 in Northam WA and settled in Toodyay WA to raise their family. Oliver had arrived in WA in the early 1900s, and worked in Greenhills, Balkuling in York, and Muresk as a Labourer and Farm Hand. By 1917 he was a 'Machinery Expert' in Toodyay WA and worked as a Mechanic until retirement.

Roy worked in Carnamah WA as a Farm Hand and was a member of the Carnamah Football Club and Five Gums Tennis Club. He enlisted initially in the ACMF (Private; Service No:W20308) with 13 Training Battalion before enlisting in the AIF in September 1941 (Private; Service No:WX16602). Roy served with 2/10 Armoured Regiment and was promoted to Corporal in September 1943 and Sergeant (February 1946). He was Discharged in July 1946. Roy's three siblings - Oliver, Gordon and William - also served in WWII.

By 1949 Roy was working in Bassendean WA as a Farm Hand when he married Olive Jean McGill. The couple had settled in Caversham WA by 1954 where Roy worked as a Distiller. Roy died in 1992.
