Balmoral Cemetery Headstones for Veterans

Yesterday, Anzac Day 2022, Pauline Winter (nee Pashen)granddaughter of WW1 veteran Horace Joseph Coxen and Mary Pauline (nee Tyler) Pashen visited their grave at Balmoral cemetery. Pauline was visiting from the Central Coast of NSW. This was the first time she had, in person seen the new headstone. As their grave lay unmarked till 2021.

Sadly Pauline never meet her grandparents as they both passed away in the 1940s. Pauline and FoBC worked together with the wording on the plaque. A lasting physical tribute to a previously unmarked WW1 veterans grave at Balmoral Cemetery.

FOBC successfully applied through the Federal Government grant for unmarked WW1 graves, to mark this previously unmarked grave.

Thanks to John & Katrina Trevethan for volunteering & suppling materials to erect this headstone and several others in Balmoral cemetery over the last 2 years. Sadly this Federal Government funding ceased in June 2021.
