Charles Frederick AUMANN was born on 6th May, 1886 in Templestowe, Victoria
His parents were Charles August AUMANN & Anna Elizabeth SCHUHKRAFT
He enlisted in Melbourne on 21st June, 1915 & embarked with the 21st Infantry Battalion, 3rd reinforcements on 26th August, 1915 on the ship HMAT Anchises
Charles was wounded with multiple shell wounds to his right leg, arm & face on 30th July, 1916 and died on 1st August, 1916 - he is buried in the Boulogne Eastern Cemetery (Plot VIII, Row A, Grave 164) and his name is memorialised on the Australian War Memorial
