News got back to Australia, and around the world, that the 2/2 men were fighting and fighting hard, the campaign proved to be a huge morale boost during the nation’s darkest hour. The company played a crucial role in tying up thousands of troops in the mountains of Timor. For many months they kept the enemy at bay and had successfully ambushed them and had them running in circles.
