George Lord ETHERINGTON was born in Sunderland, Durham, England on 5th July, 1894

His parents were John Thomas ETHERINGTON & Elizabeth Alice WATSON who married in St Pauls, Hendon, Sunderland on 17th September, 1891

He enlisted for WW1 in Townsville, Queensland and embarked with the 5th Light Horse Regiment, 4th reinforcements from Brisbane on the HMAT Star of England on 8th April, 1915 - he was discharged at his own request on 29th July 1919 whle serving in the Egyption Section of the Australian Provost Corp

He enlisted for WW2 in Keswick, South Australia on 11th July, 1940 and was discharged on 14th December, 1942 with the 4 MO Provost Company

George died in Adelaide, South Australia in 1956 and is buried in the Centennial Park Cemetery
