Corporal Francis Paget Roydhouse (Service No:WX39244) initially enlisted in the ACMF on 30 September 1941 (Private; Service No:W13609). Private Roydhouse served with 121 Motor Reserve Transport Coy and 138 General Transport Coy. He was a Corporal when he enlisted in the AIF on 12 May 1943 and served in New Guinea (2 December 1944 - 30 January 1946) with 3 Australian Corps Provost Coy. Corporal Roydhouse was Discharged on 20 February 1946.
Born in Fremantle WA in 1917, Francis was the eldest of two children of Alan Roydhouse (b1894 in Adelaide, South Australia) and Nellie Morris (b1895 in Petersham, NSW). Alan (a Civil Servant) and Nellie married in Perth in 1917 - Alan was serving in WWI (Corporal; Service No:34383). Following his Discharge, Alan and Nellie lived in Perth where Alan was a Civil Servant until he moved to Waroona in 1922, then Harvey in the 1930s where he was a Farmer - Nellie and the boys remained in Fremantle. Alan had returned to Perth by 1940 and was a Life Assurance Inspector when he enlisted in the ACMF (Private; Service No:W26199). Alan left for Victoria and he and Nellie Divorced in 1945 - Alan remarried in 1946 and settled in Melbourne while Nellie remained in Perth.
Francis worked as a Packer and then a Clerk in Perth before enlisting in the Army. In Perth in 1942 he married Roma Anna Francis (b1923 in Perth, WA). Francis and Roma settled in Perth where Francis worked as a Sales Assistant, Assistant Sales Manager and Store Manager. Francis died in 1996 and Roma in 2005.
