"THE LATE PRIVATE R. H. BEAGLEY.
Much regret was felt when the news was received by Mrs. E. A. Beagley, of West-street, Brompton, that Private R. H. Beagley was killed in action in France on September 3. He left South Australia on November 18, 1915. He received permission in Egypt to join his brother, Private E. A. Beagley, in another battalion. He was 26 years of age last January. Prior to enlisting he was employed as driver by the Metropolitan Brick Company. He was a member of the Excelsior Whippet Club." - from the Adelaide Chronicle 07 Oct 1916 (nla.gov.au)
