Octavius Kenneth Eason (Ken) BLOOMFIELD was born in 1891 at Meranburn near Manildra, New South Wales
His parents were Charles BLOOMFIELD & Ellen EASON
He enlisted in Sydney on 3rd April, 1916 & embarked from Sydney on the HMAT Marathon on 31st October, 1916 with the 16th reinforcements of the Field Company Engineers
He transferred to the 10th Field Company Engineers on 9th April, 1917
Octavius was Killed in Action by shell fire in Belgium on 24th November, 1917 and was buried at Hill 63 and later reinterred in the Berks Cemetery Extension in Belgium (Plot II, Row C, Grave 19)
His name is memorialised on the Australian War Memorial & the Roll of Honour at St Nicholas of Myra Catholic Church in Penrith, Sydney
