Clifford Harold DOVEY was the son of Frederick George Harold DOVEY and Edith DOVEY (nee KILBURN).
Clifford's father Frederick George Harold DOVEY, known as Harold, served in the Army in World War I and was in France when taken captive by the Germans and was a Prisoner of War until the end of the war. He returned to Australia in March 1919.
Clifford was the nephew of Reginald Walter DOVEY who also served in the Army in World War I at Gallipoli, Egypt and in France. He was Killed in Action near Hamel on 4 July 1918.
