Date unknown: | Honoured Military Medal and bar, On 16 July 1916 Albert Harris transferred to the Australian 15th Light Trench Mortar Battery. On 31 October 1917 Lance Corporal Harris was awarded the Military Medal which was promulgated in the London Gazette Supplement 30431 on 14 December 1917. On 24 January 2019 it was announced that Lance Corporal Albert Harris had received a bar to his Military Medal. This was promulgated in the London Gazette 6th Supplement No. 31142 on 24 January 1919 and appeared in the Commonwealth Australian Gazette No. 61 of 23 May 1919. |
Family
Albert's parents were James Henry Bishop Harris and Harriett Brittain. He had three brothers - Frederick Porteen Bishop Harris, Charles Victor Harris and James Henry Harris. He also had one sister, Elsie Gertrude Bishop Harris. His eldest brother Frederick also served in WW1 as a 1st Air Mechanic with C Flight, 4th Australian Flying Corps (Service number 1069).

Marriage
Albert Harris is in fact Albert Cephus Harris but at the time of his attestment on 6th April 1915 dropped his middle name, He was married in 1924 at Avenel in Victoria to Margaret Elizabeth Callander who was born in Numurkah, Victoria in 1897.
