Son of Ada Annie WHITMORE
Albert Ernest Whitmore was awarded a Life Membership of RSL he was proposed by the Barmera sub branch. He served as the assistant secretary 1947, secretary 1948 to 54, treasurer 1962 to 66 and welfare officer. Secretary for the Murray Pioneer and 5RP Braodcast. Marshall at ANZAC Service and Rememberance Day. Delegate at Sub Branch Conference and the State Confernce. Legacy 15 years two terms Upper Murray Chairman in 1965 he was made an elder. trustee for Garden of rememberance 2 years, and secretary for 8 years. Secretary of the Upper Murray Mounted Units Association for 25 years. Life member Barmera Show Society. served as secretary of the National Trust, National Fitness Association and the Barmera Community Centre. Representative of MDVC. Treasurer for Homes of the Aged at barmera.
