Son of Alfred Charles WALKER of South Street, Bellerive, Tasmania.  Educated at Moonah State School in Tasmania he played cricket and football and was in civil life a farmer at Pt. Cygent for many years.  Residing at 19 Beulah Road, Norwood he enlisted in December 1940 and left for overseas in April 1941, fought through the desert campaign, where he contracted malarial fever and was invalided back to Australia to recover.
