15 Feb 1942: | Imprisoned Malaya/Singapore, Taken captive when Singapore fell on 15 Feb 1942. Marched to Changi where he remained until he joined Anderson or A Force and travelled to Tavoy Burma by ship on 14 May 1942. Worked on the Burma Thailand Railway at camps including Tamarkhan, Hindat, Kanburi and Petchaburi (the latter was where he was recovedered on 16 Aug 1945. Returned to Australia on HMT Highland Brigade, arriving Sydney on 16 Oct 1945 | |
