Private Adelwyn Sylvester Gilbert (Service No:N92615) served in the ACMF with 102 Reserve Motor Transport Coy, 3 Australian Maintenance Coy and 16 Supply Depot Coy AASC from 18 March 1941 to 23 November 1945.

Third of six children, Adelwyn was born in Bulahdelah, NSW in 1917 to William Henry Gilbert (b1888 in Bulahdelah, NSW) and Emily Ethel Toms (b1888 in Bulahdelah, NSW). William was a Dairy Framer when he and Emily married in Stroud in 1913. They settled in Bullahdelah where they raised their family and William was a Dairy Farmer.

Adelwyn was a Labourer in Bulahdelah when he enlisted in the Army in 1941, and that year in Newcastle, he married Margaret Gwendoline Bignell (b1918 in Taree, NSW). The couple separated in 1946, divorcing in Newcastle in 1949 - Margaret remarried. Adelwyn worked in Newcastle and Bulahdelah as a Labourer, and died in 1967.
