Albert was the eldest of three children of Edward Argentine Hornsby (b1887 in Lillimur, Victoria) and Ada Mary Elizabeth Scott (b1893 in Melbourne, Victoria). Edward (a Farmer at Wongan Hills) and Ada married at Boyanup WA in 1912. Following Edward's death in 1916 Ada remarried.
Albert worked as a Farm Labourer in Bunbury, WA and was in Boyanup WA in 1941 when he enlisted in the ACMF. He served as a Gunner (Service No:W25373) and was attached to 7th Heavy Brigade RAA when he was Discharged in October 1944 to enlist in the AIF. Albert served in the Solomon Islands (1946) and was a Private (Service No:WX41893) attached to 15 Field Ambulance when he was Discharged in March 1946.
Albert was a Labourer in Yarloop, WA in 1947 when he married Joan Stinton Ecclestone (b1914 in Wagerup, WA). Albert and Joan lived in Wagerup, Jarrahwood and Busselton where Albert was a Labourer and Timber Worker before retiring in Perth WA in the early 1970s. Albert died in 1984 and Joan in 2008.
