Percy was the fifth of eight children of Thomas Henry Wright (b1857 at Westbrook Farm, Busselton WA) and Hannah Sarah Stinton (b1855 in Coolingup WA). Thomas (a Farmer) and Hannah married in 1881 in Picton Junction WA. They settled at Blackwood River, Balingup where Thomas was a Farmer.

Percy was a Farm Hand at Rokewood, Balingup when he enlisted in the AIF in 1916. he served as a Private (Service No:4564) with 28th Infantry Battalion and was WiA in France in 1917. Percy was Discharged in 1919 and returned to Rokewood where he was a Farmer.

In the late 1920s Percy moved to a farm at Fenleigh in Balingup where he was an Orchardist. He served in the ACMF (Private; Service No:W70726) and was attached to 5 Battalion VDC (C Coy) when he was Discharged in 1945.

In 1947 Percy married Virginia Isabell McDougall (nee Munyard; b 1902 in Perth WA) - Virginia was a Widow and had moved to Mallalyup (near Balingup) following her husband's death. Percy and Virginia lived at Fenleigh until Percy retired in the mid 1950s and they moved to Busselton. Percy died in 1980 and Virginia in 1990.
