The Rev. Frederick Humphery, who was transferred from South Australia, to the New South Wales Methodist Conference last year for mission work in Samoa, has returned with his wife to this State, on account of Mrs. Humphery being unable to stand the Samoan climate. Prior to
going to Samoa Mr. Humphery did excellent work as a Methodist minister in the Mannum, Port Augusta, Prospect, Penong, Wellington Square, Eudunda, and Blackwood circuits. He was also a soldier and a chaplain in the A.I.F.

Mrs. Ellen Dora Humphery. wife of Rev. Frederick Humphrey (superintendent of Parkside Methodist Circuit) died yesterday at her home at Robsart street, Parkside. Born in Devonshire 48 years ago, Mrs.Humphery was daughter of the late Rev. E. A. Alderson (former chaplain: to the forces at Dover) and the late Mrs. Alderson. It has been a tradition for the sons of the family that the sons become ecclesiastics in the Church of England or join the army. A grandfather of Mrs. Humphery was a clergyman. After the armistice Mrs. Humphery accompanied her husband to South Australia. Mr. Humphrey was stationed at Blackwood, after which he went to Samoaon foreign missionary work. The health of Mrs. Humphery suffered greatly under tropical conditions, and they returned to South Australia. A term of service at Glanville preceded the superintendency by Mr. Humphery of Port Adelaide Central Mission for two years. Mr. Humphery was then transferred to Rose Park, where he and his wife laboured for three years. Redhill was his next station. Last April Mr. Humphery succeeded to the charge of Parkside Circuit in place of Rev. C. E. Schafer. Mrs. Humphery has left a daughter,Mary, aged seven years. Mr. Humphery will not undertake active circuit. work for a few weeks.- Rev. W. O. North will speak in his stead at Parkside Sunday School anniversary service. on Sunday.
