Son of William and Mary CAHILL, 21 Hilda Crescent, Hawthorn, Victoria
A Stawell lad, whose late father was well known in Ararat, has made the supreme sacrifice at the war. We refer to the death, from wounds in France, on the 24th July, of acting-Sergeant Richard Nicholas Cahill, the sixth son of the late Mr W. Cahill, legal manager, of Stawell. Deceased was 20 years of age.
News has been received that Acting Sergeant Richard Nicholas Cahill, sixth son of the late Mr Wm. Cahill, Stawell, and of Mrs. Cahill, Burke-road Canterbury, has been killed in action in France. Sergeant Cahill, who was only 20 years of age, left last year for the front, and saw action in Egypt and France, where he was recently so seriously wounded, that he died on 24th. Very deep sympathy is felt for Mrs. Cahill, who has two other sons at the front, while a third died last year when in camp in Melbourne. We wish to offer our sincere condolences to Mrs. Cahill and her family in the early fall of her brave young son. May his soul rest in peace.
