Private (Sapper) Harold Norman Wilkinson (Service Nos:V64964/VX132725) served with 20 Australian Field Coy, initially in the ACMF from 30 July 1941 to 15 December 1942. Graded Storeman and later Carpenter, Private Wilkinson was 'in the field' at Mataranka, NT when he enlisted in the AIF on 16 December 1942. He served in the Northern Territory (28 May 1942 - 2 March 1943) and in New Guinea (7 October 1943 - 17 April 1945), and was attached to 20 Field Coy at Discharge on 13 May 1946.

Dick was born in Korumburra, Victoria in 1912, second of nine children of Henry (Jim) James Wilkinson (b1886 in Mirboo, Victoria) and Elsie Mary Anne Mitchell (b1890 in Marcorna, Victoria). Jim (a Labourer) and Elsie married in 1911 in Korumburra, where they settled and raised their family and Jim worked as a Labourer. In the 1930s the family moved to Warragul, where Jim was a Farmer and Labourer.

Dick worked in Warragul as a Farm Labourer before enlisting in the Army in 1941. Following his Discharge, he was a Rope Maker in Melbourne in 1948 when he married Myra Muriel Preiser (b1923 in Melbourne, Victoria) - Myra was working in Melbourne as a Machinist. Dick and Myra settled in Melbourne, where they raised their family and Dick worked as a Machinist until his death in 1982. Myra died in 1996.
