Son of John William Ullyatt and Sarah Ellen Ullyatt nee Taylor of Northcote, Victoria. Brother of Albert Percy Ullyatt who embarked with 1st to 17th Re-enforcements returning on 12 December 1918 after troopship HT Medic was recalled.
Commenced return to Australia on 21 June 1919 aboard SS Konigin Luise disembarking on 13 August 1919
