George was the third of five children of Robert Falkingham (b1882 in Yorkshire, England) and Melanie Verity (b1883 in Yorkshire, England). Robert (a Tramways Motor Driver) and Melanie married in 1907 in Bramley, Yorkshire and in 1912 immigrated to Busselton, WA where they settled and raised their family. Robert worked as a Handyman and Contractor and was a Lumper (Wharf Worker) in 1916 when he enlisted in the AIF (Private; Service No:6760).
George was a Carpenter in Busselton in 1937 when he married Ada Esther Hornsby (b1914 in Northam, WA). George and Ada settled in Busselton and George enlisted in the ACMF in December 1940. He was a Private (Service No:W30945) attached to 19 Garrison Battalion when he was Discharged in January 1942.
George and Ada remained in Busselton, WA where George worked as a Carpenter. He died in 1978 and Ada in 1986.
