Life before the War

Reuben Hornabrook Martin was born in approximately May 1886 in Adelaide, Australia. He was 29 before he joined the army and five feet and eight and a half inches tall. Before first he joined the army on the 18th of September 1915, he lived on Young Street, North Unley, South Australia. His Mother was Mrs. Lucy Martin, also lived on Young Street, North Unley. 
 
Life in Service

Reuben Hornabrook Martin was enlisted in the 43rd Battalion on the 18th of September 1915, when he was 29. He was a Sergeant when he enlisted. He embarked from Australia on the 9th of June 1916, when he was 29 on board HMAT A19 Afric. Unfortunately, he was admitted to the 14th general hospital when he got shot in his left arm and thigh the first of January 1917. He was shot again in the left arm on the 10th of June 1917, at Messines. He was promoted to Lieutenant in early 1917.
 
After the War

Reuben Hornabrook Martin returned from the western front to Australia on the 20th of May 1919. He was buried at Centennial Park cemetery, South Australia but his death date is currently unknown.
