Enlisted:	9 August 1940, according to the national archives, he enlisted In 1940 to the 2/18th battalion. He transfered to 6th machine gun battalion in what appears to be 1943. The 2/8th was taken POW but it isn unknown if he was apart of that. He may have been wounded but the document is hard to read.

9 Aug 1940:	Enlisted Australian Military Forces (Army WW2), Lieutenant, 2nd/18th Infantry Battalion, according to the national archives, he enlisted In 1940 to the 2/18th battalion. He transfered to 6th machine gun battalion in what appears to be 1943. The 2/8th was taken POW but it isn unknown if he was apart of that. He may have been wounded but the document is hard to read.
