Add my storyBiography
"Lance Corporal Stanley 'Roley' Mills joined up early at the age of 18. He was on Gallipoli as a signaller, and saw extensive service on the Western Front. He was seriously gassed at Passchendaele in 1917. In letters to his mother, he expressed a longing for home, but it was not until March 1919 that he finally sailed from England. His technical drawing set (on display at the AWM) was a part of his re-training for civilian life. In 1922 he completed a Department of Repatriation Vocational Traing course in carpentry..." - (from an Australian War Memorial static display)
