Gerald Allsebrook, known to his friends as 'Ocker' was born in 1894 in Hobart, Tasmania, the son of William and Agnes Martha Allsebrook. He was a prominant member of the North Hobart Football Club where a social evening was held in Gerald's honour before he embarked for Egypt in September 1914. Gerald enlisted in the Australian Army Medical Corps and served with the 1st Australian Clearing Hospital at Gallipoli. He received a specia mention in Divisional Orders for gallantry and valuble service between 6th May and his evacuation to Malta in June. Gerald died of wounds received at Gallipoli (14/6/1915), on 20 June 1915 (probably Malta whould on board the hospital ship "Sicilia" and was buried at the Pieta Cemetery, Malta.
