Corporal Hector Jamieson
My Grandfather too was in the ICC initially, then the ALH, but I find the ICC are not often mentioned. Below is a photo of my Grandfather and a Christmas Card he sent home in 1917 (now 104 yrs old) while he was with the Camel Corps (see attached documents).
My grandfather was Corporal Hector Jamieson, enlisted 19/4/1917. Embarked from Sydney on HMAT Port Sydney A15 on 9/5/1917 to Egypt and the Sinai/Palestine Campaign. Originally sailed with the 12th Camel Company 3rd Anzac Camel BN Imperial Camel Corps, transferred to the 12th and then the 15th Australian Lighthorse Regiment which became the 5th Australian Lighthorse Brigade (Australian Mounted Division). After the war I believe his Brigade was recalled to Egypt to police riots. He was discharged home 21/6/1919.
