Leading Aircraftman Jack Edward Arthur Scully (Service No:42296) enlisted in the RAAF on 12 August 1941 (an application earlier that year had been rejected on account of colour blindness). ACI Scully mustered as  Fitter and served with 10 and 78 Squadrons. He embarked for on Papua New Guinea on 29 October 1943 (Kiriwina in Milne Bay Provence), Nadzab, Tadji, Noemfoor, Morotai and Tarakan) and returned to Sydney on 25 July 1945. LAC Scully was attached to 1 Aircraft Deepot when he was Discharged on 10 December 1945. 

Born in 1920 in Sydney NSW, Jack was the eldest of three children of Edward Joseph Scully (b1898 in London, England) and Caroline Lowe (b1892 in London, England). Edward (a Cook in the RAN) and Caroline (a Domestic Servant) married in 1918 in Sydney NSW. Edward had immigrated with his father in 1912, arriving in Melbourne, Victoria on board the Moravian - his mother and two younger siblings arrived the following year on board the Port Macquarie. Edward and Caroline settled in Frankston Victoria following Edward's discharge from the RAN in 1946, and he worked as a Caterer.

Jack worked as a Hoisery Machine Operator in Frankston, Victoria and in 1943 married Audrey Beatrice Barrett (b1921 in Frankston, Victoria). Following his Discharge, Jack and Audrey settled in Frankston Victoria where Jack worked as a Hoisery Machine Operator and Mechanic. Jack died in 2002 and Audrey in 2010.
