Also know as Ernest Joseph Quedley (his real name), Joseph Thomas Quidley and Thomas Joseph Quedley.

Son of James Quidley of Veteran Home, Onehunga, Auckland, NZ and Mary Quidley nee Viagas of Auckalnd, NZ. James was a Veteran of the Crimean War and the Maori War.

Ernest previously served with the New Zealand Mounted Rifles in the Boer War as a Private, service number 7219.

Husband of Ann Amelia Quidley nee Wilkins of Auckland, NZ. 

Returned to Australia on 27 August 1917 aboard HT Karoola
