John Barwood BROWN was born on 3rd October, 1892 in Kelvin Grove, Brisbane, Queensland
His parents were Frederick James BROWN and Caroline Sophie SCHAEFFER
John married Gladys Muriel LINEKER in 1916 in Queensland - he was already a career soldier from 1909 & had previous service with the 2nd Australian Garrison Artillery - 7 years service with Australian Military Forces before he enlisted on 1st May, 1916 for WW1

He died on 2nd February, 1920 at the home of his parents at "Corinthia", Kelvin Grove and is buried in Toowong Cemetery - his name is memorialised on the Australian War Memorial
